Fine & Performing Arts

The Office of Fine and Performing Arts ensures all K–12 students have access to high-quality Arts education that builds creativity, confidence, and lifelong skills. Art and/or Music are offered at every school, with a K–12 pathway that prepares students for personal, collegiate, and career success in the Arts.

Through rigorous coursework, specialized Arts pathways, and the Cultural Passport program—connecting students to Detroit’s leading cultural institutions—students explore, create, and engage in meaningful Arts experiences. From K–8 Arts foundations and DSA Pathways to the nationally recognized Detroit School of Arts, DPSCD provides opportunities for every learner to find their artistic voice.
