Carleton Elementary

Carleton Elementary is a PK-5 school which places special emphasis on developing exceptional leadership skills and academic achievement. We are the district's first Leader In Me school which teaches the 7 habits of highly effective leadership to all students. This year we acquired 1:1 technology which means students will have daily access to laptops to use for instructional purposes and teachers will use SMART interactive boards to enhance their lessons. In addition to providing a rigorous curriculum, we offer many extracurricular activities including Academic Games, Chess, Art, Music, Soccer, and Computers. We provide after school Title I tutoring and our partnership with the Detroit Education Society allows us to provide online SKYPE tutoring as well.  We have many onsite services to support the social emotional needs of our students and families, one of which is The Children's Center which houses a clinician on site.
